The Rebbetzin's Ramblings:
Shavuot. Learning. An activity we're always doing at some point or
another, via various media. I've always been fascinated with learning.
But as far back as about 3rd grade, I perceived that Torah was different.
Growing up, I knew math was amazingly logical, methodical. English was
deep, emotional, analytical to the very core of the human experience.
History... well, uh - I found history a little boring. But Torah? A whole
different story entirely. It never failed, as far back as elementary
school, and up to and including this little ramble, that anything I would
learn would immediately take on personal significance, even to the point of
uncanniness. A little tiff with my friends? I'd recall a Torah lesson
from that morning to set me straight. Confusion over a decision? Count on
clarity from yesterday's lesson. Weird. Personal. But totally true.
This Shavuot, we have the power. We receive the Torah all over again.
What a gift.
Hope it's a great one.
