The Israel Ramblings:
Shalom from Israel, I know that I said that I would email from Israel and
I have not. Unfortunately there are very few if any Internet cafes on
Masada or even in Jerusalem.. and I did not bring a computer. Israel and
this trip have been quite a surprise. An eye opener as well as a soul
opener. On the mission the group of women from Mexico, Canada and the
US... about 100 women altogether did everything possible. It was a
whirlwind.. we climbed Masada, kayaked down the Jordan River, explored the
kabbalah in its birthplace Safed, prayed at the Kotel (the Western Wall)
met with Israeli soldiers (very cute) and Generals (very smart), and took
classes on everything from baking challah to the Talmud and the big bang
theory. We spent Sabbath in the Old City, kids dancing in the streets
welcoming in Sabbath. And then we prayed some more...and you were all in my
prayers. You name it we did ..even rode camels and slept in Bedouin tents
and much more. Israel is alive, vibrant and memory making. Sixty some
years after the Holocaust, the Jews not only survived but thrived here. I
did not expect to be so taken by this country but I was blown over by what
a group of people with a vision and mission can do in the middle of desert
without water.. truly awe inspiring. They went from 600,000 people to over
6 million in 60 years ...wow. The streets are packed every night not just
the weekends until 2 am and it is very safe. I have lots of stories to
share. But most important I came to Israel with many of your prayers and
notes . At The wall, (the Kotel) people are praying and praying. 24-7...
The vibes here are incredible. I have left all your notes in the cracks of
wall... so please expect miracles. It was quite a list you sent in to
G-d... but I have faith that all your prayers will be answers. In
Jerusalem especially you can feel the power of prayer. Amazing energy!
We all had a great time... and I have not yet processed this trip... but it
was definitely life changing. I miss all of you... and I have lots of
photos and videos to share...
love to all,
