Super Bowl Prophecy

Super Bowl Prophecy

It was more than mid-way through the 3rd quarter and the New England Patriots were down by 25 points. The Falcons had been outplaying them the entire game. Even the most die-hard Patriots fans had given up on their team and their hero, QB Tom Brady.

At that point, at the lowest point of the game for the Patriots, my brother in New York sends this picture to our family chat. It is a picture of Robert Kraft, owner of the Patriots; Tom Brady, celebrated QB; and a Nachal Chareidi Israeli soldier, at a benefit that Kraft and Brady had organized in honor of this special Israeli soldier unit.

Underneath the picture, my brother posted, "Expect imminent Patriots comeback. And I will bless those who bless your people," quoting a Biblical verse where G-d promises Abraham to bless and protect those who bless the Jewish people.

We laughed at this sweet but unrealistic prediction. "Impossible," we said - the deficit was just too great for a comeback. Well, my brother had the last laugh. We were incredulous. The overtime comeback made Super Bowl history.

Would you like a stock tip from my brother, the unlikely prophet?
Is is it possible that there's any truth to the rationale of his prediction?
Does G-d even care about the Super Bowl?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one - feedback appreciated!
