There's always Shabbos.
It doesn't matter
which holidays come and go
or what else is going on in your life
there's always Shabbos.
It doesn't matter how tired you are
or how distracted you are
or how many people are home that week,
there's always Shabbos.
Like a faithful friend
in any kind of weather
through every up and down
whether you cook up a storm
pull a few things out of the freezer
or buy some takeout,
there's always Shabbos.
Shabbos doesn't mind
if you pay it huge amounts of attention or,
catching your breath after Shavuot, skid into home plate at the eleventh hour.
There she is, waiting
patiently
kindly
benignly
lovingly
faithfully
every week
no matter what.
Because in this crazy life
one thing you can always rely upon
is
there's always Shabbos.
